filmscore [ supertex ]

10:17p i'm a sucker for piano scores... which is the only reason DUSTIN O'HALLORAN came to my attention. was about to change the channel this evening when An American Affair came on. the intro music was gorgeous. it appears he was a foley artist before getting more consistent work writing music. and of course, i have to give him props for being the pianist/vibraphonist in his own score. i'd give this film a listen if you like simple, elegant piano scores

filmscore [ supertex ]

8:45p an observation... i saw BROTHERS today (good film btw). i noticed toward the end of the film that Thomas Newman's guitar score was very reminiscent of Gustavo Santaolalla's Brokeback Mountain. so much in fact, that i had to IMDB the damn thing just to be sure i wasn't getting my composers mixed up. anyone else notice this???
